I’ve wanted to be a designer since I was 6. Everything I did was in preparation for design school. After working for a range of companies (new construction, remodeling, to high-end furniture sales) the housing bubble burst and I was laid off. After a few years in big box retail I got to be a stay at home mom. When pregnant with my second child I realized the time was right to go out on my own. Yes, I do local design, but I’ve always wanted to work with a wider range of people than are available to me just in Montana. I’ve now been in business for over 15 years! My niche is space planning. I always start my plans being very conservative with square footage, while making them as functional and beautiful as possible. I love built-ins, mushrooms, and butlers pantries.
Creating plans for new construction is my favorite. I feel that my focus on interiors makes me better than your average architect or builder because I focus on how the inside and outside work together (for ex. does that window placement make sense bor both the interior of the room and the exterior facade?) and the all important sight-lines in open floorplans (are you stuck staring at dirty dishes from your living room?).
